Es, quizás, uno de los cuadros más famosos de la Historia del Arte y el rostro de su musa uno de los más bellos.
Botticelli (siglo XV) se inspiró en una joven dama perteneciente a la nobleza genovesa llamada Simonetta Vespucci cuya belleza, se dice, dejó prendado al artista desde el primer momento.
La joven se casó con Marco Vespucci en su temprana juventud y fue considerada una especie de "reina de la belleza" de la época. Sin embargo, con tan solo 23 años, murió víctima de tuberculosis. Aún así, su belleza jamás lo hizo y sobrevivió a generaciones gracias a la imagen que de ella dejó plasmada el pintor italiano.

It is, perhaps, one of the most famous paintings in Art History and the face of the model is one of the most beautiful.
Botticelli (15th Century) obtained inspiration thanks to a young lady, belonging to Genovese nobility, whose name was Simonetta Vespucci. It is said that her beauty captivated the artist from the first moment. 
 The young girl was married with Marco Vespucci during her early youth and she was considered a kind of "beauty queen"at the time. However, at the age of 23, she died of tuberculosis. Anyway, her beauty never did it and survived during generations thanks to the picture of her that the Italian artist reflected.
